Clairsentience, aka clear feeling.
This is the clair you’ll run into the most. Clairsentience is often associated with being an empath. Clairsentient people are able to place full faith in their gut instincts. They experience the emotions and sensations of others internally.
For example, one time I was with [REDACTED] and he brought up pain in his forearm. I asked him to circle the spots on his arm with my pen, and told him I would help ease that pain. I figured I'd do research on the areas of the body that store certain emotional energies, but I all too quickly I began to notice my arm was hurting. I figured I had taken too many notes and put a supportive glove on. Later that day [REDACTED] messaged me to note there was no pain in his arm, which was weird because this arm is often big owwie from a past accident. I continued to feel the pain for 4 solid days while he felt fine until the pain slowly faded from my arm and his amped back up.
Weird. Spiritual gifts are weird.
Typically practitioners of this gift are uplifting, high energy, and express compassion in every way they possibly can. Since these peeps have felt the negative experiences and feelings of others, they counteract that energy by being little bubbles of kindness when possible.
Let's talk signs of being clairsentient to greater detail.
They judge whether they should follow a course of action based on how they feel over what they’ve been told
Likelihood to have touch sensitivity issues, physical touch as a love language, and/or are tactile people
Feeling the emotions of people and places around you
Gauge the world through understanding of energy and vibrations
Gut feelings and internal physical sensations guide them
Typically show up as compassionate, wise, and charming individuals
Pour intention into justice
Show a natural proclivity toward healing others- whether it be lifting spirits through spending quality time or offering sound advice, these people bring peace to those around them
Animals are drawn toward them and they spend a lot of time enjoying nature
Often use sensory descriptors to communicate their psychic inklings and use “i feel” statements
Are not fans of crowds because they’re prone to anxiety and tension
Experience sensitivity toward moon phases and pre owned items
Drawn toward crystals and other energetic based tools like pendulums, tarot cards, and talisman.
Run into troubles when balancing emotions because they are easily moved
disclaimer
Let’s take a brief second to note the difference between the gift of clairsentience and being an empath. Clairsentients have the ability to read the emotional world of someone regardless of distance. The empath is limited by distance, as they need to be physically present to pick up on these energies.
Practices to encourage the gift of clairsentience:
Journal. The answer feels like it's always journaling but here its very important. Feelings are fleeting. Journal every time you get a weird gut feeling and keep this log accessible. Look through your log every now and then and make notes in the margins to give you insight into how that situation played out. Think of it like a little statistical test to gauge how often you're right on mark, in the vicinity, and way off with your predictions.
Find others who have experience with this gift and talk to them. Talk about how it feels to be surrounded by energies all the time. Talk about how hard it is to find emotional balance when you're always regulating for your environment. Seriously. Either that or therapy because this shit gets intense.
Practice with psychometry. Psychometry is the practice of sensing energies clinging to an object. For this practice you need both a friend and a personal item of theirs. One you have no prior knowledge about. Hold it. Close your eyes and focus on rubbing the object between your palms. Observe the energetic presence stored within. Then talk to your friend about the feelings, images and ideas that roll around in your mind while holding the belonging and see how they respond. This is a skill that takes some honing in, but keep track of your wins and losses.
A 4 step practice: find another friend and
1. ask for a picture of someone they know well, but you’ve never seen before and know a combined total of zilch about.
2. Observe this pic. Practice interpreting the emotions tied to this person. What feelings do you experience while looking at this photo? Beginners can practice determining whether the person carries more positive or negative energy.
3. In a general sense, Would you trust this person?
4. Fact check your observations with the friend. Note your success and where you guessed wrong.
